When I began planning my first blog post, I thought it would be cool to go back in time and talk about what got me started in photography. I knew that I had a picture of me with my first camera (a Kodak "Disc") so I started digging through the old shoebox of photos that I keep in the closet. As I was going through this pile of memories it struck me that what I should really be talking about is how important these images are to me. I’m willing to bet that we all have that shoebox somewhere in our house. The one that documents key moments in our lives and reminds us of how we got to where we are today. The pictures remind us of things like:
Questionable fashion choices:
Meeting the people who change our lives:
And other milestones...
I encourage everyone to dig out their own shoebox. Some of the pictures will make you laugh. (Did you SEE those plaid pants?). Some might even remind you of things you'd like to forget, but they’re all important. They matter. Grab your camera (or your phone) and keep documenting your own life. Or, call me and I’ll take the pictures for you!
